Welcome to my blog! It just so happens that my first ever blog entry on cp24.com is debuting on my birthday! How exciting! While I am the first to admit that technology and I are not the best of friends, I do enjoy blogging. I love being able to share what happens behind the scenes at many of the locations that we remote host from, with our viewers. (Remote hosting is what we call it here at CP24 when a reporter is on location.)
You know, there are many funny and very interesting things that happen on location and I am looking forward to sharing the moments that do not make it to television, right here on my blog.
I thought for my first blog entry I would write or I should say blog about one simple thing that I have noticed in relation to the weather and that is...the weather really determines how your day is going to be.
Being a weather specialist you get the brunt of people’s complaints about the cold days, the snowy days, the hot days, the rainy days etc. I don’t mind.... it means that as long as people care about the weather, I will have a job!
The question I have is... are we really ever happy with our Canadian weather? What is the perfect weather day? I was recently asked this question for an interview for a local magazine and I said a rainy afternoon snuggled on the couch with a blanket, a nice cup of tea and a great book or movie. It doesn’t always have to be 25 degrees and sunny for it to be a perfect day weather wise. In fact, I have a feeling that if it were always sunny and warm, some of us would complain about that as well. When we get a brief warm up in the winter, it certainly does put a spring in our step. But if we didn’t have the crazy winters that we do, we would not be the hardy people that we are. I actually love getting through a snow storm. I always feel that I have won against Mother Nature.
With spring literally only days away, I would like you to send me your favourite winter memories and tell me what makes your perfect day weather wise.
Also, check in as often as possible because I will be blogging as often as I can!
Wishing you sunshine always,
Nalini
